It pretty much exclusively existed to get Cody’s entrance in front of fans more than because Rhodes had strong material. Those there live in Cleveland who stumped up cold, hard cash for tickets surely appreciated seeing Cody, but they'd have relished some killer SummerSlam 'Street Fight' build more than a lonely speech from the poster boy babyface.

The Wyatt Sicks were in action against Andrade and Rey Fenix, Alexa Bliss took on Roxanne Perez, and both Jelly Roll and Logan Paul helped hype their upcoming tag match with Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre as their respective partners. WWE also took some time to pay tribute to the late Hulk Hogan following his death on Thursday.
