Doug Jung is set to serve as showrunner on the “Mass Effect” TV series currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety has confirmed. Variety exclusively reported the show was in the works back in November.

Amazon MGM Studios' long-gestating Mass Effect TV series is taking a step in development with the hire of Doug Jung (The Chief Of War) as showrunner.

Prime Video is finally moving forward with a Mass Effect adaptation, hiring showrunner Doug Jung. Previous attempts at a Mass Effect film adaptation failed due to challenges in condensing the universe.
