Shepard, who starred alongside Elvis Presley in the movies King Creole and Paradise, Hawaiian Style, has died at the age of 96 after suffering from pneumonia

Jan Shepard died at a hospital in California on January 17. Her death was caused by pneumonia brought on by respiratory failure. She starred alongside the rock n roll icon in his 1958 movie King Creole as well as 1966's Paradise, Hawaiian Style. She also had a successful TV career away from the big screen.

Shepard, who acted opposite Elvis Presley in 1958’s King Creole and 1966’s Paradise, Hawaiian Style, and appeared in more than 30 TV Westerns, died Jan. 17 at a hospital in Burbank, Calif. of pneumonia brought on by respiratory failure.
