Manchester City are set to sign attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki from Lyon in a €40 million package deal. The French international is said to have flown to Manchester shortly after a deal was agreed on Monday morning to complete his medical and media duties before signing ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline before the FIFA Club World Cup.

Cherki was named in the Europa League Team of the Season, while also earning his first call-up for France's senior team in May.

Manchester City expect to clinch a deal to sign Lyon forward Rayan Cherki, sources told ESPN. The 21-year-old, who impressed in his international debut for France against Spain on Thursday, is set to arrive in a €40 million ($45.6 million) deal, including bonuses, and sign a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
