MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said during an interview on CBS Mornings that the reinstatements of Pete Rose and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson were "overdue."

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred said his decision to reinstate Pete Rose, "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and other deceased banned players was a matter of "baseball living up to the deal that they originally made" with Rose.

The decision does not ensure Rose or anyone else will be elected into the Hall, and that ruling is years away, presumably in December of 2027 for the induction Class of 2028.
