Some teams had their first bye weeks, others continued cruising over their opponents. Vandy On SI’s Graham Baakko gives his newest SEC power rankings.
The SEC on Monday announced its kickoff times and TV information for Week 6, games of Oct. 4. Only 9 of 16 SEC teams are in action that week, with the top games including Vanderbilt at Alabama, Texas at Florida and Mississippi State at Texas A&M. Seven teams have an open date: Arkansas, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Alabama vs. Vanderbilt at Bryant-Denny Stadium will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT on Oct. 4. The game will be televised on either ABC or ESPN, with official network designation to be finalized after Saturday's Week 5 slate.

With the upcoming nine-game SEC schedule, the conference is finally going to the pod system. In this arrangement, each team will have three permanent rivals it plays annually alongside a rotation of six drawn from the remaining league teams.
Despite the history of Auburn’s rivalry with Georgia, the game hasn’t been competitive in recent years. The Bulldogs have won the last eight contests dating back to the 2017 SEC Championship game, and only two of those eight losses have been by one possession.
But in a year where 11 SEC teams are currently ranked in the AP Top 25, the race to Atlanta is as wide open as ever. And in a wide-open year, it's worth considering whether Vanderbilt or Missouri can win this conference.
