UK nuclear reactor height to be cut in half, removing 15,000 cubic meters of concrete
The Trawsfynydd power station was equipped with a 392 MWe Magnox reactor and began generating electricity in 1965 before ceasing operations in 1991. All nuclear fuel was removed from the site by 1997.
