The UFC CEO revealed new details on the upcoming White House card and hinted at Makhachev’s potential involvement.
Highly ranked fighter Brandon Royval came out swinging against the UFC event scheduled for the White House next year. (Watch the video below.) President Donald Trump said in October the matches would take place on the White House lawn June 14 ― also his 80th birthday.
Speaking with reporters, Royval said he isn’t interested in performing in front of high-profile political figures and described the idea as a “Hunger Games–type” environment. He added that he sees little value in fighting before people who, in his view, may be more focused on betting or status than on the athletes themselves.
