PowerSchool, a national student software company, announced this week that a data breach may have compromised the personal data of students and teachers in school districts across the United States. Some Vermont schools have already reported being affected.

A northern Vermont school district was the victim of a recent data security breach, according to a letter sent to families by the superintendent. Superintendent John Tague of the Franklin West Supervisory Union school district wrote a letter to families confirming that student,
