I asked the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) whether Drag Queen story times are part of the curriculum. Initially the answer was a firm NO from David de Carvalho, before circling back and side-stepping the issue by saying he was processing the question. I asked what control or influence the national curriculum has over state schools and was told there is some freedom to adapt and adopt before implementing the curriculum.
