The dramatic moments Daniel Andrew Smith, 37, of Gainesville, Georgia opened fire, shooting at police. Smith has been charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer. On 6/25/20 at approximately 10:30 p.m., police responded to a report of an intoxicated subject in the 1000 block of Jesse Jewell Parkway outside an extended stay hotel. Upon locating Smith, he immediately turned and began firing at officers. Smith then fled around the hotel on foot, he was apprehended moments later. No injuries
