Matching acute angles is one of the hardest seam matches in quilting. I think a lot of us use our habit of piercing two pieces of fabric with a pin and then rotating it for the second poke and unknowingly distort our match. It lifts the top fabric, distorting the 1/4” sewing line. If you are making a quilt project that you want to have very accurate matches, I encourage you to switch to this double pin style, and yes, get comfortable sewing over the pins.
