The United Kingdom has unveiled its Atlantic Bastion undersea defence programme, a cutting-edge initiative designed to counter growing Russian submarine activity in the North Atlantic by integrating autonomous systems, AI, and traditional naval assets. Atlantic Bastion aims to create an AI-enabled, multi-domain sensor and targeting network that links warships, submarines, aircraft, and unmanned vessels to improve the ability to detect, track, and, if necessary, deter or engage undersea threats.
