Yesterday 1300KOALAZ were called to a koala hanging on to a power line. Sam, as he is now known after being named after one of his rescuers, had climbed a stobby pole and was on the powerline for 2 hours, at one point hanging by one arm. A call to SA Power Networks and Jarrod and Sam arrived with the right vehicle to help get Sam down. He was ushered back to the pole and down, when low enough our rescuers took over and retrieved him. This little fella found himself in a bit of a sticky situation at Korumburra in South Gippsland last week. The juvenile koala fell asleep after stranding himself up a power pole. It seems he was a bit stubborn or sleepy and took around 4 hours to get down. Walter was rescued by Natalie Thomson from Warriors 4 Wildlife and has since been released in a healthy condition after a check-up with the vet. (Photos: Natalie Thomson) | ABC Gippsland
