Flóki Vilgerðarson, known as Hrafna-Flóki (“Flóki of the Ravens”), was a Norwegian Viking explorer from the 9th century and the first Norseman to deliberately sail to and explore Iceland. ⚓️ According to the medieval Landnámabók (“The Book of Settlements”), Flóki used three ravens to guide his voyage across the North Atlantic. 🕊️ The first raven flew back east, the second returned to his ship, and the third flew west — leading him toward the unknown land that would soon be called Iceland. 🌊 He
